ACCUSATIONS
Under Shakespeare’s deft
hand a comedy perhaps
had he written this scene
verbal ping pong, slapstick
humor, repetitive dialog.
In reality a tragedy
as each person sought
answers apart from responsibility
or Common sense, accusations
sought a target instead of truth.
Denied man’s healing
saw only rules-rules
broken on holy Sabbath
but not the miracle of vision
contained in worship.

QUESTION
Despair or hope?
which drew the blind,
lame, paralyzed to
Beth-zatha’s pool.
To seek release
from illness or from scorn
chance of healing or
community of peers
“Do you want to be
made well?”
question shook
invalid to his core
A choice. Long years
day by day came in
pain, situation hopeless
always another before him
Today a different
opportunity, new hope
listened
stood up—walked.

Kingdom Manna
Acts 14:22, “There they strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, ‘It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God.’”
Sanctuary door stands open
ready to receive
hurting souls lost,
bewildered
needing peace.
Deep at the center,
place of glass
as when a pebble
dropped within
a pool stays still.
Surrounded by ripples
moving outward
smearing the image
clouding
His reflection.
Dimly seen. Together in the
quiet restoration
of calm the mirror is
restored.
Pure.
Psalm of Worship: Psalm 68:35
Awesome is God in his sanctuary,
the God of Israel;
he gives power and strength to his people.
Blessed be God!
