Safety: 1 John: Prayers and Poetry

                Safety

                Committed love and mercy

                grace and direction on

                every step we take

yet too often we do not

                recognize or even know

                this gift of love

                never broken yet waiting

                often for us to yield

                accept Spirit's powerful safety

                speaking into us with witness.

Psalm 107:20: "He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Haven: Lamentations: Prayers and Poetry

                 Haven

                Out of redemption grace

                she prays

                for justice

                only possible by

                Spirit

                faithful judge

                overcomes malice and

                sin with

                forgivness.

                On each side safe haven.

Psalm 37:29: "The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever."

Reflection: Safety: Lamentations: Prayers and Poetry

 Reflection Questions

        1. How astonishing is the fact that the Lord Himself pleads for us?

        2. Does your soul accept and acknowledge His gift of grace?

        3. What does a redeemed life look like for you personally?

Safety: Lamentations: Prayers and Poetry:

Reading: Lamentations: 3:58-60: "Oh Lord, Thou didst plead my soul's cause; Thou hast redeemed my life. O Lord, Thou hast seen my oppression; ...".

Safety

Oh, Lord, we need Your reminder that in all circumstances we are each being prayer for by You. And cared for by You. And can come immediately to You.

Forgive us when we forget and assume You are not. Then we do not listen for words of hope and purpose.

Forgive us when we forget that each day of our lives is in Your hands and we are not forsaken.

May we receive this gift with thankfulness and an open heart to be Your servant, no matter the hardship within and without.

Your thoughts,

Safety: Prayers and Poetry

             Safety

            Within and without
            can only be seen
            from clear knowledge.

            Experience both a
            sorrow and a search
            to walk the road chosen.

            In faith in trust
            regardless of persecution
            when our heart is firm.

            Within and without
            wrapped in His grace
we can live in soul safety.

Matthew 5:11: "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me."

Leaving Egypt Behind

Scripture: Exodus 9:5, And the Lord set a definite time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land.”

Toddlers and teenagers are notorious for pushing limits. Newly discovered mental and physical capabilities shout for exercise, exploration, experimentation. Life is exciting, challenging, timeless. Boundaries are barriers, limits are made to be broken.

To parents the limits spell security, a safe environment in which their offspring can experience the highs and lows of growing, can understand accomplishments and accept accountability.

The Lord set a specific time frame for Pharaoh, warning a pestilence on Egyptian cattle but safety for Israel. Israel’s boundaries separated and protected them, both by duration and space.

Time is in God’s hands. He holds our situations within His boundaries. He sets a definite time for us; to stretch, to nurture, to mature.

Turn my eyes, Lord, to the possibilities surrounding me. Extend my reach to new capabilities, knowing I am safe in Your secured limits.

Psalm of Worship: Psalm 90:12

So teach us to number our days,

That we may present to Thee a heart of wisdom.
