Embedded: Grace in the Wilderness: Prayers and Poetry

                                               Embedded

                                                Within our hearts

                                                law inscribed

                                                with mercy

                                                law written

                                                by His hand

                                                by His grace

                                                legal covenant

                                                will never be broken

                                                love embedded

                                                Wielded by His love forever.

Romans 8: 33, “Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies.”

Reflection: Within: Grace in the Wilderness: Prayers and Poetry

Reflection Questions

1. What are some excuses we make to block God’s words to us personally?

2. What are some false distortions we need to learn to recognize?

3. How has the Spirit guided you in a season of fear and confusing?

4. What enabled you to recognize His guidance?

5. How might we learn to listen as naturally as breathing?

Within: Grace in the Wilderness: Prayers and Poetry

Jeremiah 31: 33, “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

Within—on our hearts,

No longer an external legal commitment that can be shredded or ignored, but an internal ink written into our every breath and pulse. That will not be removed.

Through the gift of His Holy Spirit to protect our hearts and speak truth into us.

Even if we remain deaf or dismissive to these words, they will speak into our lives continuing to bring light. Our hearts will listen and eventually we will begin to recognize the Spirit’s guidance.

Even when in frustration or ignorance we act like rebellious toddlers clarity will come, false beliefs will be revealed, and restoration will grow.

Lord, please keep writing Your words into our hearts and open our eyes to see and ears to hear Your voice to follow wherever You choose.

Your thoughts,
