Reflection Questions
1. Why do we lean into forgetting
that all life is from God?
2. What difference could that make
in our perspective each day?
3. Where do you need His gift of
light today?
4. Ask Him for His word to you.

Jeremiah 31: 35, “Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for
light by day, And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The Lord of hosts is His name:”
His name,
His name alone speaks power into all creation. He is the
only one.
The words He speaks into all creation includes us. Each one
individually created. Each one being held in His care.
Yet we continue to doubt—let the darkness swallow us
up—become self-absorbed and forget His light can and will restore into
wholeness again.
All life gifted by His mercy and grace.
His light will guide all our steps, seen and unseen, hidden
or obvious, when we ask. When we choose His words. When we accept His creative
life. His hope and life.
His words in His name.
Lord of all creation, forgive us our weak faith in the face
of difficulty when we know without a doubt that You hold all the universe and
creation in Your care. Thank you that there is nothing to separate us from You,
because You are the one holding on to us. Keep our eyes and heart fixed on You,
we pray.
Your thoughts,

Questions
1.
Do you believe that everyone who calls on His
name will be saved? Why or why not?
2.
In what ways does that make you uncomfortable?
3.
How can our actions and speech influence other
people’s perception of God and Jesus?

the most meaningful name of God to you?

Reading: Acts 2:21
“Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Everyone.
We are so busy categorizing each other. Putting each other in boxes,
including ourselves that we daily reject—sin—against the Lord’s absolute,
eternal, invitation. And sometimes we know that we do.
Who calls.
A choice. His gift of free will is not overridden. He calls everyone.
Not everyone responds. He alone knows whether each heart has fully answered or
is still struggling with whose name to follow. As Creator He alone knows
everyone most personally from the inside out.
On the name of the Lord.
How do we speak His name with or without words? Do others see His
truth, invitation, mercy, and desire to call on His name? Or do they see us
giving lip service while we hold tight to our personal likes and dislikes, our
self management of our own lives?
“Do you not
know? Have you not heard?
The
Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not
become weary or tired.
His understanding
is inscrutable.”
Isaiah 40:28 NAS
Lord, please build Your house into each of us, and build us into Your
house, that our diversity and uniqueness honor Your gift of life and Your grace
that alone saves.
Psalm of Worship: Genesis 1:21
“So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that
moves, of every kind, with which the waters swarm, and every winged bird of
every kind. And God saw that it was good.”
