Daily: 1 John: Prayers and Poetry

                Daily

                All ages from
                childhood to elderly
                the reminder of grace
                repeats over and over.

                A blessed gift
                that too often we
                forget to hold onto
and let words weaken our hearts.

                Always He gives a strong
                foundation that will not bend
                reminding of love and strength
                every day beginning with forgiveness.

Psalm 27:11: "Teach me Thy way, O Lord, And lead me in a level path, Because of my foes."

Reflection: Writing: 1 John: Prayers and Poetry

Reflection Questions

        1. How often do people sigh because you tend to repeat ideas and words often? Or how often do you sigh at people who continue to repeat to you?

        2. Do we repeat for the things that matter? How do these words of repetition in this passage affect you?

        3. Notice that all ages are given the 'because'. What common thread do you recognize for yourself as a forgiving reminder?

Share: What "because" in this passage do you most relate to on the list? Why?

Writing : 1 John: Prayers and Poetry

Reading: 1st John 2:12-14: "I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake. I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning, I have written to you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God abides in you, and you have over come the evil one."

Writing

Repetition for reminders? Because we SO easily forget?

Because we are all facing many levels throughout our lives and need to acknowledge Your unbreakable foundation?

Thank-you, Lord, for forgiving us our sins--again and again--for being our Father who guides us in an ongoing relationship of mercy, love, and kindness.

Thank-you for knowing each one of us so deeply, and teaching us to know our beginnings.

Thank-you for abiding in us and giving us Your strength to overcome evil.

Thank-you for writing Your truth and love of life into our every days.

Your thoughts,
