Prisons: Purpose: Prayers and Poetry

                                                Prisons

                                                Prisons come in many forms

                                                where doors close steel shut

                                                sometimes by others

                                                sometimes by ourselves

                                                we barricade our lives giving

                                                power to defeat—to loss—to sin.

                                                Forget His grace

                                                Forget His compassion

                                                Forget His forgiveness

                                                Prison bars crumble—decay

when we come in honest regret

                                                seeking a new beginning again

                                                surrendering our lives to mercy

washed by His everlasting love. His

                                                promise to never forsake us.

Psalm 18:6: “In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry for help before Him came into His ears.”
