Watch Over: Grace in the Wilderness: Prayers and Poetry

Jeremiah 31: 28, “And it will come about that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to over throw, to destroy, and to bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant,” declares the Lord.

Watch over,

Each day can sometimes seem too hard to face the battleground we see. Even with the knowledge that the Lord has invited us to be fellow workers with Him.

Decisions—strength—desires all collapse into sorrow and weakness.

Yet despite the destruction we contribute to ourselves, and others, the Lord stays. He watches over each of us ever ready to guide us to plant—to sow—to restore. He will show us how to plant in weariness.

When we keep our eyes on Him, our hearts in commitment, and our hope in trust.

Lord, we ask to follow in Your purpose with, or without, the ability to understand. Keep us faithful in times of deep loss and in times of restoration. Please keep us living in Your light and enable us share it with others even when we cannot see or recognize it.  Enable us to truly know, Lord, in our minds—and please may our hearts trust as well.

Will Sow: Grace in the Wilderness: Prayers and Poetry

                                                Will Sow

                                                So many words,

                                                parables, stories,

                                                art, music,

                                                sunrise, sunset

                                                possible dreams

                                                a burning desire

                                                sowing His words

                                                prepared daily

                                                a miniscule seed

                                                sending truth as a

                                                purpose to share

                                                a promise of life

                                                stretching into eternity

                                                prayerfully intercedes.

Seeds: Grace in the Wilderness: Prayers and Poetry

Jeremiah 31: 27 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and with the seed of beast.”

Will sow.

Days are coming. The seeds will be sown in His time and in His place of choice.

Yet, we rarely recognize the impact, or the magnitude, because even when we catch a glimpse of His possibilities, all we notice is a small seed.

And we have seen so many tiny seeds crushed or ruined or destroyed. So we do not often take them seriously when we do catch a glance.

Yet the timing, the sowing, the reaping, will all be completed in His purpose. Whether we participate in silence or in voice, He can seed each of us with His light and truth and grace. Whether or not we see the harvest for ourselves or for others.

Forgive us Lord for fear and anxiety that prevents us from being faithful to Your seeds sown in us and through us. Please keep us listening and waiting on Your will in Your time. Grace our hearts so that they are filled with Your purpose and Your truth.
